  1. I'm no big fan of Dan Barker, but let me just have a go at one of your cheap shots, one that you apparently often use, the Bill Vallicella quote at the end.

It really worries me when religious people use this sort of argument. Raping and murdering would never occur to me, even though I know I'm not going to be judged when I shuffle off this mortal coil.
To think there are all these religious people walking around with these desires, and the only thing stopping them violating or killing other human beings is their belief in some supernatural fairy story is pretty scary.
Maybe there are some people that are better off holding onto their beliefs, no matter how "interesting" they are.

I'd love to have a go at the rest of your points, but I just don't have the time. I've been trying to follow your blog for a while now, and am amazed at all the time you spend writing this stuff. I don't even have time to read it.

Do yourself a favour, go and spend some time with your family. They are here now, not in some arbitrary afterlife. Go on, turn the computer off and go and cuddle your kids. Take them to a museum or to watch a sports match for example. If your god's that good he can look after himself.

    Have a good one,
    Dave

  2. Dave:

No offense but that was a fairly weak attempted argument one that is fairly laughable at that. Try not to distort facts and understand what an exageration is. You seem to have missed his point by a wide margin and your only retort is to make something up about religious people walking around having these kinds of sick fantasies. Either you can adress his arguments or not comment.

Until such time you should probably take your own advice and turn off the computer and go spend time with your family. That or look up a meaningfull argument. Until then you should stop wasting time and not post fallacies. So again follow your own advice as you appear to need it more.

    Cheers
